International Flag Art Exhibition 2012 / Beirut Solidere Waterfront Corniche

The inaugural event of “World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development” proclaimed by UNESCO will be celebrated on Monday 21st of May 2012 and shall be manifested in an International Flag Art Exhibition displaying the artworks of 40 international renowned artists who were the recipients of the 2008 Olympic Gold medal and the Olympic Torch at the Beijing Olympic Fine Arts competition in 2008 and shall be representing 40 countries respectively.

This special photo exhibition sheds the light on the rich collection of the daring frontline photojournalist GÖKSIN SIPAHIOGLU.

SIPAHIOGLU founded the Paris-based Sipa press photo agency and is considered today as one of "the greatest photojournalists ever".

The photo exhibition will be open during the whole period of the Beiteddine Festival from June 28 to July 28.

This cultural event is an exceptional exhibition on the theme of freedom inspired by the dailies of the arab spring uprising; created by Samir Sayegh and curated by Saleh Barakat (gallery Agial).

The Beiteddine Festival is one of the leading festivals in the Middle East. It takes place in a large and magnificent 200-year old Palace in the Chouf Mountains, in Lebanon.
The Palace is a jewel of Lebanese architecture with its many courtyards, monumental gates, elegant arcades and leveled galleries. Each year, in the months of July and August, the Festival presents outstanding performances by world famous stars and Lebanese artists.
